Ben Benson Sensei
Yondan (4th Degree Blackbelt) - Bujinki Ryu Jujitsu
Sensei Ben began studying Jujitsu under Herreman Sensei back in Brookings in 2005. Since that time, he has been a driving force behind the growth and development of Dynamic Martial Arts into the program we have today. He currently works as part of the education team at the Sanford Promise lab.

Sensei Lee's martial arts journey began as a high-school wrestler in Dell Rapids. In 2009, Sensei Lee began studying Jujitsu under Herreman Sensei. His wrestling skills have translated well into Jujitsu and he is one of our top instructors for grappling skills and competition. Lee Sensei also holds a Shodan in Shorin Ryu Karate and a Shodan in Hakasuru Kempo under Hanshi George Alexander.

Sensei Mark & his family have studied under Herreman Sensei since 2015. Mark has studied jujitsu, karate, kobudo and kenjitsu under Herreman Sensei. He also studies Hakasuru Kempo under Hanshi Alexander. Sensei Mark's diverse skills are a huge asset to students as they work to unify their skills and apply them to different situations.
Tim Lundin Sempei

Sensei Tim began training with Herreman Sensei in 2017 at the age of 57. As one of the oldest students to receive his black belt in Jujitsu, Tim brings a unique view of training to the mat. He is proof that age is just a number and that jujitsu can be adapted for any age.

Sifu Joel D.

Sifu Joel began his martial arts journey with the hard style martial arts, studying Goju Ryu Karate but his study of the internal healing arts eventually led him to study Tai Chi and Qigong under Sifu Bryan Knack. Joel has carried this love of healing and improving daily health into his work as well, working as a a massage therapist and Qigong healer. In addition, he is a artist and illustrator of children's coloring books.

Sense Jesse founded a successful martial arts school in Walker M.N. that is still active today, but moved to Sioux Falls in 2012 with his family. After coming to Sioux Falls, Jesse founded the Sioux Falls Sword Academy to continue his teaching and training. He joined forces with Dynamic Martial Arts in 2019, adding Olympic Fencing to the Sword Academy and expanding his training. Currently Sensei Jesse holds a 5th Dan in Kumdo, a 4th Dan in Kendo and is a certified fencing coach, focusing on the epee.

Bill Crasper
HEMA Certified Longsword Instructor
Bill began his study of sword in the late 1960's after watching films with Errol Flynn, Basil Rathbone & Cornell Wilde. Fascinated by the clash of blades, he began to play with wooden swords and sticks like any boy in love with the blade. In 1978, Bill was finally given the chance to formally study the sword while attending South Dakota State University where he joined the SDSU Fencing Club. In the '80s, Bill was instrumental in helping to form the SCA in both Brookings and Rapid City where he studied armored combat and the fighting styles of medieval knights. During his studies he eventually moved toward the study of German and Italian Longsword. Today he is leading the German Longsword class here at DMA.
