Scoring Information For Testing
Listed below are the scoring standards for scoring the various belt or rank examinations.  Keep in mind
that this is a guide.  The person who is testing you may score in between any of these scores below.  
Their requirements and perception of your testing may also vary.  No total score is used in determining
the passing of the exam.  The Instructor has full authority to pass an exam based on the score of each
technique required for each belt level.  Upon successful examination for a belt level, the instructor will
approve the test by initialing the examination form.
0 = NO SCORE
Unable to execute a technique or wrong technique executed

1 = POOR
Must be told or shown how technique is done.  
Barely able to execute technique.
Severe loss of balance.

2 = FAIR
Somewhat awkward in balance.
Technique done fairly smoothly.
Some verbal assistance required by examiner.
Probably repeats or has to repeat moves or techniques.

3 = GOOD
Technique done very smoothly.
Well balanced.
No verbal assistance required.
No repetition of moves or techniques.
Execute good form and breathing with occasional Kiai.

4 = VERY GOOD
Exceptionally good form and kiais with most techniques.
Very fluid movement.
Execution appears effortless.
Returns to ready or natural position after each technique.
Submission suitable to technique.

5 = EXCELLENT
Excellent form and execution.
Knows the overall picture of JuJitsu as an art.
